The iPod is just bigger than big. Grandmothers and toddlers have been seen walking, talking, and gawking about iPods. Well here’s something to yap about: iPods are now 20GB and 60GB selling for $299 and $399 respectively. Oh, and every full size iPod has those intoxicating color screens that we like so much. Goodbye iPod photo (cause every iPod is now a ‘photo’ version) and farewell monochrome iPod.
If that’s not enough for you, iTunes 4.9 has just sprung up. This was a greatly anticipated version of iTunes because it now comes podcast ready. I know what I’m doing later on this evening, let’s see just how ready podcasting is for the world, or the other way around.
I wish that Apple would bring back the 40 GB size. For me, 20 GB is not quite enough, and 60 GB is too much, and too expensive.
Initally that’s what I felt. But I paid 399 for my 20GB 3rd gen iPod a few years ago. And I also live by the idea that you can’t have too much storage space. I’m holding out for an 80 or 100 GB version!
I’m sure an 80 GB version is just around the corner. you would have to remortgage the house to fill it up at the iTunes store!
Well actually I love the idea and biz model of the ipod and store but I really can’t wait till the industry actually catches up because its actually behind.
The technology already exist for extensive and expansive data storage but for reason its being slow spilled to the world.
To me 399.99 is a waste considering we can use a nanomemory with 100gb starting off in the size of a stamp and with power saving that are 3x what the ipod or most mobile devices have.
I feel we are being bamboozled but for what it is worth I am an avid fan of ipod.
